Well, I just got back from a Servant Event in Henning, Minnesota at Lutheran Island Camp. I had a great time. We had five young people and then three counselors (I wasn’t one of the young people, but a counselor) Anyway, we did a lot of work and had a lot of fun. Thought you’d like to see some pictures of the event. Hope you enjoy!

The Extended Family Grows!
The month of May saw two more granddaughters brought into our lives. Audrey Elizabeth Carretto was born to Andrew and Natalie on May 5, 2008 in Duluth, Georgia. And then, that same week, Isabel Marie Faubel was born to Andrew and Michele on May 7, 2008. They haven’t met their Grandparents yet, but will very soon. Isabel’s baptism will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2008 in Dubuque, Iowa and Becky is going to go with Jennifer for that event. Then, this summer, Becky and I will meet Audrey in Georgia in July.
We thank our Lord for these new gifts of life and ask His blessings upon them and their parents.

Okay! Okay! Okay!
Actually, I was having trouble admitting that I couldn’t beat Anna in Wii Boxing. After being knocked out four times by this hussy, I went into a state of depression and was not seen very much around town! But your comments brought me out of depression and spurred me on to do more blogging - at least for tonight.

Our Trip To St. Louis, Missouri And Concordia Seminary
On April 22nd, Stephen received his vicarage assignment to Boca Raton, Florida for the 2008-2009 school year. So, I flew down for the service after church on Sunday, April 20th. Becky and her sister Beth drove to Michele and Andy and family and then headed down to St. Louis. It was a quick trip, but a great one. It was so great being with Stephen and Jess at this special time for them.
I picked up Beth at the airport in Omaha and then she was in a car for the next 10 hours. But when we got home, we were going to give her a ride on our motorcycle to our Day Tripper Supper Run, but of course, it was windy and rainy that night and so she missed out! (She didn’t look real disappointed though - go figure)
The pictures tell the story of this special trip. Take some time to look at them and enjoy!

Our House has been marked
In Grand Island there used to be an obvious map that the transients would use to know where the parsonages were in town, so they would know where to go to ask for food. The parsonage in Wisner has been marked by a cat. A cat was hit by a car and then crawled to our door. Becky is being a nurse to the cat that stays in the garage due to fleas. The cat is being fed and kept warm while her broken leg heals.

Our Trip To Laughlin
Becky and I had a great time in Laughlin. We gambled and, of course, lost all our money, but we also had the pleasure of having Mom Esler, Kris and Lee and Mom and Dad Larson come and join us. It was a very restful week. We had the odd opportunity to worship on Sunday at Living Christ Lutheran Church, which was in the Riverside Resort and Casino! Great service though and very worshipful!
